Hace unos días leí un post sobre una campaña por la igualdad y la coeducación en la infancia llamada ‘Enseñando a ser’ (puedes leerlo aquí), promovida por Madresfera y RealKiddys. La verdad es que según leí el post pensé mucho en mis pequeños, mi ratona y mi ratón, también pensé en mi infancia con mi hermana. Pensé en que yo jugaba al fútbol con los niños de mi urbanización, a las muñecas, a las coches con los hijos de los amigos de mis padres o a la cuerda con mis amigas. Jugaba con lo que quería, sin tener en cuenta si el juego era para una niña o para un niño. De hecho, en mi casa, a pesar de ser dos niñas, nunca hubo sólo muñecas. Mis padres nos facilitaron juegos que quizás estén concebidos, por las jugueteras, para chicos.
Ahora, pienso en el futuro de mis pequeños y en los regalos que Sus Majestades los Reyes Magos de Oriente les traerán en el futuro y me niego a que haya juguetes sexistas. ¿Por qué hay quien piensa que el set de limpieza debe ser para la niña? ¿Por qué no para el niño? ¿Es que en las casa sólo limpian las mujeres? ¿Acaso no hay barrenderos hombres? ¿Y por qué el scalextric debe ser para el niño? ¿Las mujeres no conducimos? ¿Acaso no hay mujeres piloto?
Seguro que la mayor parte de quienes me leéis pensáis como yo, pero lo cierto es que las jugueteras y los publicistas no siempre lo hacen así. Y me explico. Si pensamos en juguete de coches, seguro que a la mente se no viene la imagen de la caja con niños y si pensamos en la Nancy en en el embalaje vemos la imagen de una niña. ¿Por qué?
Tengo claro que si mi pequeña quiere un coche y no una muñeca tendrá su coche y que si mi hijo quiere jugar a las cocinitas lo hará. Pero es verdad que no siempre es fácil. Asimismo, hay veces que el problema también radica en el entorno familiar. Por ejemplo, el otro día hubo una persona que me dijo que iba a pedir a Papá Noël para el niño (tendrá en ese momento tres meses) un producto relacionado con el deporte rey, el fútbol. Pero, ¿por qué a esa misma persona no se le ocurrido regalárselo a la niña? ¿Qué pasa que a las niñas no les puede gustar el fútbol? Con esto me refiero a que las personas que nos rodean en ocasiones provocan esa diferenciación por la que luchamos los padres. En ocasiones ellos hacen comentarios del tipo: «¿Cómo va a jugar un niño con una muñeca?»
No obstante, he de añadir que esto va cambiando, aunque lo hace poco a poco. Recientemente vi el anuncio de un muñeco bebé en el que aparece un niño (simulando el papel de papá) y que lo lleva al médico. Puede ser un primer paso, no? También quiero destacar el catálogo de juguetes de Toy Planet, donde no entiende de sexos, sino de pequeños que sólo quieren jugar. Como veis estas imágenes son de juguetes de imitación. Por más que me esfuerzo no alcanzo a entender como jugueteras, publicistas y amigos o familiares aún distinguen entre juguetes de niñas y juguetes de niños. Como digo estos juguetes son de imitación y ¿acaso una mamá no usa una caja de herramientas? Yo tengo la mía. Y ¿un papá no sale a dar un paseo empujando la silla de su bebé? Si lo hace el papá ¿por qué el niño no puede jugar con un cochecito?
