Si me lees habitualmente sabes que me encanta reciclar, reaprovechar al máximo todo y lo más importante: hacer todo lo anterior con CHALK PAINT. ¡Bien! Te cuento esto porque recientemente hemos acristalado parte del jardín de casa para poder disfrutar este espacio durante el duro invierno vallisoletano y claro, nos hemos dejado unos cuartos importantes, así que para decorar y amueblar este espacio hemos reaprovechado muebles. El que te enseño aquí lo rescatamos de la casa del pueblo de mis padres y quiero que veas el antes y después y convencerte de que reciclando muebles podemos lograr cosas muy chulas y que se adapten al cien por cien a nuestras necesidades.
Este mueble tendrá la friolera de 20 – 25 años y la verdad es que me horripilaba. Pero según lo vi fui consciente de que nos iba a hacer un buen apaño, así que nos pusimos manos a la obra.
Tenía claro que utilizaría Chalk Paint para pintarlo. Es una pintura que me encanta, que se aplica con facilidad y lo más importante, no hay que tratar el mueble. Sólo hay que pasar un trapo húmedo para limpiar la superficie a tratar. Yo suelo limpiarlos con agua y amoniaco, lo seco y empiezo a pintar. Y con un par de capas suele estar listo, pero si ves que necesitas alguna más pues se da y ¡listo!
En esta ocasión decidimos dar una capa fina en azul turquesa de Auténtico Chalk Paint y encima aplicamos una capa de azul pastel, un tono muy clarito porque queríamos que el espacio fuera lo más luminoso posible. ¿Por qué aplicamos primero un tono y luego el otro? Porque tras dar el tono más claro hemos pasado una lija para que en ciertas zonas apareciese el otro color y lograr un aspecto diferente.
La verdad es que me encanta como quedó.
Sobre la marcha decidimos sólo pintar el exterior, pero al ser un mueble sin puertas había que cambiar el aspecto de dentro, ya que se iba a ver. Aquí me planteé mil opciones, desde pintarlo del mismo color, forrarlo con tela, papel, vinilo… Mmm, ¡vinilo! Nunca antes lo había usado y la verdad es que me apetecía y qué mejor momento que ahora que estaba dando una segunda vida a un mueble.
Reciclando muebles con vinilos
Tras navegar por la red y ver lo que había decidí que el vinilo era nuestra opción. Di con LoKoLoKo. Sus diseños y su atención son de ¡10! Tras elegir el diseño les pasé las medidas y se adaptaron a mis necesidades. Me enviaron los vinilos recortados para empezar a trabajar y fueron muy rápidos.
Debo decir que colocar el vinilo en el interior de un mueble no es fácil, o al menos a mí no me lo resultó. Pero aunque el primer pliego quedó un poco peor, fuimos mejorando según avanzábamos en la decoración del mueble. Y al final, aunque hay algún fallo, ha quedado genial. La nueva terraza muestra otro aspecto, más acogedor y adaptado a la necesidades de los peques. De hecho, el #pequeñoM está encantado porque tiene todos los juguetes a su alcance.
