Bueno pues después de dos semanas visitando colegios -mañana veremos el sexto y último colegio, de los cuales dos lo hemos visto porque tienen transporte escolar hasta la zona donde residimos-, ahora toca decidir en cuál solicitaremos plaza. La verdad es que la decisión está siendo más complicada de lo que pensé en un primer momento porque todos menos uno de los que hemos visitado estuvieron muy demandados el pasado curso. Lo cierto es que tenemos clara nuestra primera opción (el colegio al que pertenece la guardería a la que asisten los peques, pero ya no existen los puntos de guardería, por lo que no sé las opciones que tendremos).
Lo bueno es que hoy se sorteó la letra de desempate y he de decir que no ha salido tan mala letra: VH (en primer apellido) y el apellido de la ratona empieza por la A, así que no me puedo quejar. A continuación voy a relacionar los aspectos que más estamos teniendo en cuenta con sus pros y contras.
¿Qué voy a encontrar en el post?
Jornada de adaptación
Algunos de los centros la aplican durante dos semanas y uno de ellos lo hace, a mi parecer, de una forma un tanto extraña. Durante una semana un grupo de alumnos acude de 9 a 11 de la mañana, el otro grupo lo hace de 11 a 13 y la segunda semana cambian de horario. Así el primer grupo acude
a última hora de la mañana y el segundo lo hace a primera.
La verdad es que no veo la adaptación en esta opción porque yo como adaptación entiendo que vaya de menos a más, no dos horas durante quince días y cambiadas.
Hay otros centros cuya jornada de adaptación consiste en acudir el primer día un par de horas, el segundo un poco más y el tercero prácticamente la jornada completa. Otro centro de los que visitamos también la desarrolla de esta forma, pero el primer día dividen a la clase en tres grupos y el primer día acuden a horas distintas, el segundo los tres grupos pasan a ser dos y el tercero están todos mezclados. Así, argumentan, los niños se adaptan al aula poco a poco y no se encuentran en un espacio nuevo con gente nueva de golpe.
Yo prefiero que no haya periodo de adaptación porque la peque llevan yendo a la guarde desde los nueve meses y no ha parado nada más que en las semanas que nosotros estamos de vacaciones (nuestra guarde abre todos los días del año excepto, festivos y fines de semana). Pero entiendo que lo desarrollen y que haya niños que lo necesiten.
Metodología de enseñanza
La mayor parte de los centros nos ha hablado de inteligencias múltiples, lo cual está genial porque considero importante que cada niño se exprese de la manera que se encuentra más cómodo, pero me ha llamado realmente la atención que sólo uno de los centros que visitamos trabaja por rincones: lingüistico, artístico, lógico-matemático, cinestésico, tecnológico.. Esto me gusta mucho porque creo que a cada niño le permites expresarse de la forma que mejor se le da, pero la verdad es que en mi ciudad pocos centros trabajan así. Cuando realicé la visita al centro los peques estaban en jornada escolar y me sorprendió ver como en la clase de 5 años un grupo de niños pintaba mientras que otro jugaba al parchís y otro estaba en el pasillo viendo cuentos. Me encantó la verdad. Me gusta que les den esta libertad, siempre dentro de unos límites.
Cercanía
En nuestra ciudad existe el distrito único por lo que ninguna zona tiene adscrita un colegio, de esta manera todos podemos optar a todos los colegios, eso sí hay centros que otorgan algún punto a quienes residen en el mismo CP, pero no es nuestro caso, ningún centro educativo tiene nuestro código. Tras ver este aspecto hemos optado por los más cercanos o los que nos pillan bien de camino al trabajo. Y tenemos la suerte de que en la mayor parte de los centros elegidos tendremos dos puntos por tener un hermano pequeño no escolarizado en el centro (menos es nada).
Nosotros hemos tenido en cuenta estos aspectos a la hora de realizar la criba para ver centros porque la verdad es que a mí eso de visitar todos los colegios no me va 🙂
En fin! Ahora sólo queda esperar varias semanas para conocer en qué centro cursará sus estudios la ratona.

Desde luego que los centros que parten de la idea de desarrollar las inteligencias múltiples en el niño me encantan. Mira también si trabajan por proyectos. No vas mal encaminada, la metodología general del centro es súper importante para que los críos se sientan a gusto en el cole. ¡Suerte en la elección!

Sobre la parte de los rincones re-redacto mi frase, sólo en uno de ellos he visto que trabajan así (en el que estaban en jornada escolar), el resto de centros no indico que trabajasen por rincones, sino que llevaban a cabo las inteligencias múltiples. Por lo que no sé cómo trabajarán. La verdad que me gustó ver a los peques en acción.
